RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA – LIBERATION STATION IS A BOOKSTORE FOR BLACK CHILDREN! All books feature BLACK CHILDREN! OMG! Everytime I go to a bookstore, I look for books for my children (now 32 and 21), and usually come up short.
So to know that there is a whole bookstore with nothing but books for BLACK CHILDREN is such a joy! HEAVEN FOR OUR CHILDREN – OUR FUTURE – CAN SEE THEMSELVES IN PRINT AND PICTURE!!!

COLORADO – Trump barred from Colorado primary ballot for role in US Capitol attack

Former President Donald Trump is disqualified from serving as U.S. president and cannot appear on the primary ballot in Colorado because of his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters, the state’s top court ruled Tuesday.

The historic 4-3 ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court, likely to be taken up by the U.S. Supreme Court, makes Trump the first presidential candidate to be deemed ineligible for the White House under a Constitutional provision that bars officials who have engaged in “insurrection or rebellion” from holding office.

Houthi leader threatens to attack US warships if Washington targets Yemen

The leader of Yemen’s Houthis warned on Wednesday they would strike U.S. warships if the Iranian-backed militia was targeted by Washington, which this week set up a multinational force to counter Houthi attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea.

The Houthis, which control vast amounts of territory in Yemen after years of war, have since last month fired drones and missiles at international vessels sailing through the Red Sea, attacks it says respond to Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip.

The U.S.-led security initiative will see Washington and ten other, mostly NATO countries patrol the Red Sea to deter and respond to future Houthi attacks that have so far led to major global shipping lines rerouting around Africa instead.

“We will not stand idly by if the Americans are tempted to escalate further and commit foolishness by targeting our country or waging war against it,” Abdel-Malek al-Houthi said.

The Houthi slogan is “ALLAH IS THE GREATEST, DEATH TO AMERICA, DEATH TO ISRAEL, CURSE THE JEWS AND VICTORY FOR ISLAM.”

“Any American targeting of our country will be targeted by us, and we will make American battleships, interests, and navigation a target for our missiles, drones, and military operations,” he said in a televised speech.

CLORA “FLORA”🌹🌺🌷🪷🌸🏵️💐 BRYANT

Born May 30, 1927, in Denison, TX, Clora began her career in music imitating the piano playing, singing and dancing she viewed in the Black movies, her father took her and two older her brothers to.

She picked up her older brother’s trumpet while attending Dennison’s High School for Black people and became a member of the Marching Band; proving to be so proficient that she won music scholarships to both Bennett and Oberlin Colleges. Opting instead to remain in Texas and attend Houston’s HBCU Prairie View Agricultural and Mechanical University because of its All-Girl Swing Band, the PRAIRIE VIEW CO-EDS.

The Summer of 1945 saw The Prairie View Co-Eds touring throughout the entire state of Texas, leading to national gigs, highlighted by an appearance at the World Famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York City.

Although a lead soloist at Prairie View, Clora decided to relocate with her parents and family to study at The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in late 1945.

There, she was introduced to the Bourgeoning Be-Bop scene, by her friend, trombonist and arranger, MELBA LISTON, and mixed her sound right in with the other players, specifically THE GENRE CO-FOUNDER and PIONEER, THE LEGENDARY JOHN “DIZZY” GILLESPIE.

In the Summer of 1946 Clora joined the INTERNATIONAL SWEETHEARTS OF RHTYTHM, giving her enough credentials to qualify for a cabaret (union) card and like so many other musicians and entertainers, dropped out of school to devote herself to JAZZ.

John (“Diz”) offered her the opportunity to perform with his band and also served as a mentor for the remainder of his life. However, I don’t think she ever played in his all-male band because I searched but could not find any records, videos or liner notes of them performing together.
I heard her speak at The Central Avenue Jazz Festival and she said that while she and Louis were both performing in Vegas, he came to hear and view her set! 😮😯
SHE RECORDED ONE ALBUM AS BANDLEADER ON THE MODE RECORD LABEL. AGAINST HER WISHES, THE LABEL INSISTED SHE SING ON THE ALBUM. PROBABLY TRYING TO APPEAL TO AN AUDIENCE, WHO PREFER VOCALS TO INSTRUMENTALS. WHICH IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, RUINED HER ALBUM. ON THE TRUMPET, SHE IS “AS GOOD AS ANY MAN” OR BETTER!!!! Clora Bryant: Jazz Trumpeter “As Good As Any Man”

In 1989, Clora accepted Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev’s invitation to play five dates in the U.S.S.R., becoming the first female jazz musician to tour the Communist nation.

After which, at 62 years, she retired her trumpet and returned to vocals and lecturing as a pioneer and groundbreaking trailblazer for Black female musicians.

This is what goes on in schools.
Why students bring guns and shoot their teachers.
Did you write Sister?
I’m still trying to find her booking number, but I wrote her anyway!
The other students who are not subject to harsh treatment still have to VIEW it.
This affects them also.
Maybe have your children write her. ❤ ❤ ❤
I’m concerned about her son and any other children she may have.

When I was in jail, it was very difficult with mothers missing their children.
They grow up so fast.
All we get are pictures.

For some reason, people get super romantic, desperate maybe, and propose or get married.
Percy said, when the record companies offered him beaucoup amounts of money to sign, he knew something was up. So, he WAITED. They put pressure on you. Always, TIME or MONEY.

BORING MUSIC

As Salaam Alaikum!

I believe we should feed the hungry visit the sick and incarcerated so I play piano at the local hospital and pray and offer holistic medicine remedies so that everyone can be well and go home.

This was some of today’s sesh.
